Dave Lawrence is a Calgary-based writer and actor. He started his career as an improviser at the Loose Moose Theatre in Calgary under the tutelage of Keith Johnstone. After performing regularly in theatre, independent film and at international busker festivals, Dave went on to write, produce and star in his first feature film, FUBAR-- which premiered at the Sundance film festival in 2002. Following the release of his film, he co-wrote Just Give’r - A Hand guide by Terry and Dean and won a Bessie Award for his work in the Great Reasons to Smoke campaign, commissioned by the Government of Nova Scotia. David can be seen on Discovery’s Doctor*ology, a television series starring himself and Leslie Nielsen. Currently, he is developing many projects including a comedic western with his production company Funco.
